Shingletown Man Accused of Stabbing His Father

A 29-year-old Shingletown man is in custody today on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after they found the man's father suffering from an apparent stab wound to his face. Responding to a call of a man acting strange and threatening to kill someone, sheriff's deputies went a home on White Fir Road where James Martin Chapman Sr., 69, called 911 shortly after midnight. James Michael Chapman Jr., who was reportedly had access to firearms, was eventually taken into custody without incident and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats and elder abuse. Chapman's father was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
