Sheriff's Seek Help Identifying A "Jane Doe" Found in Redding

(UPDATE) 3:00 p.m.- The Shasta County Sheriff Coroner’s Office is asking help to identify a female adult that was found in the Sacramento River. She is approximately 5’4” 130 pounds with dark brown/black long hair and dark brown eyes. Decedent is physically fit in appearance with darker skin color. She has pierced ears and has several tattoos. Decedent could be in her late 30’s. Anyone with credible information is urged to contact the Shasta County Sheriff's Department at (530) 245-6000.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Department has confirmed a body of an unidentified woman was discovered near the Highway 44 Bridge in the Sacramento River in Redding. Sheriff deputies received a call from California Wildlife Fish and Game at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning after they discovered the body during their routine salmon inspection.

The Sheriff's department has told Action News the woman did not have any form of identification on her person, but they are actively trying to see if there is a match with any recently reported missing persons.
