Shasta Sheriffs Arrest Man with $66,000 Worth of Meth

Sheriff Deputies took 53-year-old Randolph Ragasa Abaya of San Francisco into custody after CHP found he had been driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop on Hwy 299 yesterday afternoon. During a search of Abaya’s car, deputies found roughly 10.64 ounces of Methamphetamine, an approximate street value of $66,500.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. yesterday, CHP officers pulled over Abaya for speeding on Hwy 299 just west of Hatchet Mountain Summit. During the stop officers discovered Abaya was driving on a suspended California license. Deputies soon arrived at the scene to take Abaya into custody and his vehicle was towed.

During a search of Abaya’s vehicle, deputies found roughly 10.64 ounces of methamphetamine along with several other contraband items. The Department estimated the value of the meth to be around $66,500. Abaya was transported to the Shasta County Jail and booked for charges of possession, transportation and intent to sell narcotics.
