A man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly robbed a bail bondsman, who was then able to use Facebook to identify him.

Jacob Clements, 22 of Old Shasta, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and resisting arrest after officers responded to a reported assault in progress in the 1700 block of Placer Street Sunday evening.

Several minutes later an employee at Aladdin Bail Bonds reported he was the assault victim. He told officers a man and entered the business asking to use the phone, and then asked the victim for a ride. When the victim refused to give the man a ride, the man tried to take the victim's car keys and a fight broke out.

The victim told police he had seen the man on Facebook before, so he logged onto a computer and identified the suspect as Clements.

Officers went to a residence in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street where Clements was contacted earlier in the day. Clements fled out the back of the house, but was arrested minutes later and booked into jail.
