The Shasta Lake community came together Wednesday night to talk about their vision for the city's future.
The meeting comes on the heels of the general plan update, which will be open for public review this fall. Those who attended the meeting were given a chance to list the strengths and weaknesses of the city and what they would like to see over the next 20 years.
A consultant hired by the city presented the community's recommendations before the city council and planning commission. According to the city's senior planner, the population is expected to grow about 10,000 over the next 20 years.
There are currently just over 10,000 people in the city of Shasta Lake.
