Two people are in custody after Shasta County narcotics officers seized a large outdoor marijuana grow operation west of Igo.
Several agencies including the Shasta County Sheriff's Office and the California Fish and Wildlife Water-shed Enforcement Team raided a located the property in the Trinity Alps Preserve.
Authorities found close to 11,000 pot plants of various ages and growth stages. Officers then eradicated the plants on-site.
Enrique Nunez, 19 of Stockton, and Sergio Becerril-Molina, 29 of San Jose, were arrested.
Authorities also seized eight grams of suspected methamphetamine from inside a trailer that was found on the property.
Agents also found a highly toxic insecticide known as Carbofuran that was being used to treat the pot plants... a chemical that has been banned in the U.S.
Members of the central valley water board were also on scene looking into environmental damage as a result of water diversion on the property.
