With this season's lack of rain, local officials are not letting up their guard on the water conservation front.
Less than a month after Shasta County supervisors extended a declaration of a local drought emergency, supervisors are expected to approve another continuation of the declaration Monday, with hopes that they won't have to do it again.
The declaration urges all county residents and businesses to do their part to meet the state's mandate to cut water use by 20 percent.
