A Shasta County man has been arrested for allegedly threatening a Columbine style shooting, and threatening to kill Shasta County law enforcement officers.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, Robert Alan Gibbs called them around 3 p.m. Friday, mentioning an officer by name and said he would kill and officer found at a local unidentified Starbucks.

Gibbs never mentioned a specific school, but said he hoped several officer’s children were killed during his self-proclaimed day of reckoning.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit determined that Gibbs had an extensive criminal record, and had been arrested last month for domestic violence following a short standoff with deputies.

Deputies responded to Gibb’s home in the French Gulch area, and arrested him during a traffic stop as he left his home Friday afternoon.

Gibbs was booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of terrorist threats and threatening public officers.
