Shasta Regional Medical Center has been ranked as one of the nation's top 100 hospitals for the third straight year.

The list, compiled by Truven Health Analytics, evaluates hospital performance in 10 areas: mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia.

The study has been conducted annually since 1993.

Additionally, Shasta Regional was named by Truven as one of the top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals in the U.S.

Nine California hospitals made the top 100, eight of which are owned by Prime Healthcare Services, the parent company of Shasta Regional Medical Center.
