An investigation into an illegal marijuana operation in Shasta County has resulted the seizure of nearly 300 marijuana plants, five guns and three cars.
Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, California Department of Fish and Wildlife Marijuana Enforcement Team served two search warrants within the Mill Creek Subdivision in Oak Run Monday.
Agents found 286 marijuana plants, more than 80 pounds of processed marijuana, and 1.5 pounds of concentrated cannabis. The search also turned up five firearms and more than $82,000 cash.
During the raids, agents found 46-year-old Kenneth Bartic, of Oak Run, at a home on the 30000 block of Crockett Lane in Oak Run. According to the Sheriff's Office, Bartic was responsible for both properties searched by agents Monday, he was subsequently arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
During their investigation agents learned that three other suspects were allegedly involved in the marijuana operation. Tracy Hass, Adam Lee Briggs and Demetrius White were cited and released on various health and safety code violations.
The case will be forwarded to the Shasta County District Attorney's Office for review.
