As of 2 p.m. Tuesday fire officials have lifted evacuations for residents of Little Valley, Big Eddy, Cassel, Johnson Park and Hat Creek Valley.
Firefighters stopped the Bald and Eiler Fires from burning into the populated areas, so returning residents will not have any direct effects from the fire. However, people are advised to avoid the fire area and to not interfere in any way with fire suppression activities.
Anyone driving on reopened roads must drive slowly and use extreme caution due to the presence of firefighting crews and equipment along the road.
The northern portion of the Lassen National Forest remains closed to public entry due to the wildfires.
In addition to the evacuation order being lifted, Highway 299 has reopened, Highway 299 to Highway 44 on Highway 89, is open to residents with proper identification only.
