Sex offender arrested for allegedly stalking Redding woman

A Redding man who is a registered sex offender and on parole for assaulting and drugging a woman was arrested in connection with a stalking case Tuesday.

Redding police arrested 30-year-old Stephen Wiley on Tuesday and booked him into the Shasta County Jail for violating parole, and for stalking, annoying and harassing.

The victim in the case told police on March 19, that she had been receiving calls from a man she didn't know, but told officers that the man referred to her by her name. The caller, who was eventually identified as Wiley, made several sexually explicit comments during the calls.

The investigation led officers to Wiley, and he was taken into custody at his home on Mica Ct. Tuesday. A search of the residence turned up evidence supporting the victim's allegations and resulted in the stalking charge.
