Mostly sunny skies, severe heat, and extremely dry conditions are ahead for your Friday forecast. Temperatures are starting out in the higher 60's to mid 70's in the Valle this morning and in the high 40's to high 50's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures will climb into the 105 to 108 degree range in the Valle, while mountain areas will top out in the mid 90's to low triple digits. Valley winds will be up to 10mph out of the Northwest, but mountain winds should be light. Humidity values will fall to around or below 15 percent.
Temperatures will stay above average this weekend but will not be as hot as what's expected for this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 90's to low triple digits in the valley by Sunday with partly cloudy skies returning for the weekend. There will be a slight chance of mountain thunderstorms Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. Fire danger will remain high through the weekend.
Much cooler temperatures will return next week. Valley areas will only be climbing into the low to mid 80's by Tuesday, and the potential for light showers will return towards the end of next week. I hope everyone stays safe in the severe heat this afternoon and has a fantastic Friday!
