The Redding Police Neighborhood Police Unit has been busy once again arresting a number of people for various crimes over the last several day.
Officers conducted surveillance at the Redding Inn on the 2000 block of Pine Street Thursday immediately observed a significant number of people coming and going from one room in particular. Two individuals in particular were immediately recognized as Rhiannon Suzanne Castillo, 35, and Jonathan Blake Woods, 41.
Both these subjects were arrested in August 2015 and again in October 2015 while living at the Redding Inn for various drug offenses. Castillo was currently wanted on a felony arrest warrant for failing to appear at court for sentencing on those drug offenses.
Erin Matthew Brinkman, 31 years was contacted on foot leaving Room #124 and found to be in possession of several needles and syringes. He was arrested and released with a citation to appear in court for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Castillo was arrested for her outstanding arrest warrants. She had numerous drug paraphernalia. Woods was on searchable probation and was in possession of several needles and syringes.
Police said the room was full of drug paraphernalia and items associated with both heroin and methamphetamine abuse, 102 needles and syringes were located, along with 14 individual sets of drug weighing scales, 8 spoons used for injecting narcotics, and 17 items used for snorting narcotics. Marijuana, pills, and several items of foil and packaging with remnants of heroin and methamphetamine were found inside the room as well.
All suspects were arrested and transported to the Shasta County Jail to face various charges.
