The Chico Police Department and Team Chico have announced a new series of Community Safety Meetings designed to increase communication and awareness in Chico.

Launched in April of 2015, the meeting are focused on bringing increased awareness of the Police Department's community-policing model, and to provide updates on technology and staffing. The discussions will also include a question and answer session with Police Chief Mike O'Brien.

Business and property owners, residents and students are encouraged to take part, and Team Chico will conduct monthly business walks proper to each meeting to make sure businesses in those areas know about the opportunity.

Team Chico is described as an economic partnership between the City of Chico, Chico Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Chico Business Association, 3CORE and the Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc.
