WASHINGTON (AP) -The Senate is expected later today to pass a bipartisan budget designed to keep Washington from repeatedly facing a financial crisis.
The measure would restore half the amount already scheduled to be automatically cut from the 2014 operating budgets of the Pentagon and some domestic agencies.
An additional $18 billion for 2015 would provide enough relief to essentially freeze spending at those levels for the year.
The measure, which already has passed the House, would then go to President Barack Obama for his signature.
