Second Stabbing Outside The Beach in Downtown Chico

Chico Police officers were patrolling downtown Chico when they witnessed a large fight outside The Beach nightclub at approximately 1:40 a.m. As the officers broke up the fight, they encountered a victim they described as having several large lacerations to his upper body. Several Asian males were spotted walking away as witnesses told the officers they were involved with the fight. The subjects fled when officers attempted to contact them.

One suspect was detained after a struggle with officers, but two which fled were not located. Toua Lee, a 21-year-old man from Oroville was arrested for resisting arrest. Lee is considered a suspect of being involved in the original altercation but was not responsible for the stabbing. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect in this case is still at large. Chico Police believe all of the parties involved were originally patrons at The Beach.

This is the second night in a row that Chico Police investigated a stabbing at the bar. The incidences are not believed to be related. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chico Police Department at (530) 897-4911
