Second Feather River Cleanup Planned

Mar 12, 2014 3:52 PM

The Butte County Resource Conservation District is spearheading its second Trail & River Cleanup this year.
The first event included a total of 23 volunteers, who removed 30 large bags of litter from the Feather River in Oroville. But there’s still more clean-up to do … so a second event is planned for Saturday, March 29th.
This service day will honor the memory of the late farm labor leader and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez.
Interested volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. in the Riverbend Park parking lot just past the roundabout in Oroville . Trash will be collected along the Feather River from Bedrock Park to the boat ramp in Riverbend Park.
Cleanup materials, supplies, and snacks will be provided. It’s recommended that you wear appropriate clothing and bring your own reusable water bottle to help keep waste out of the landfill.
The Butte County Resource Conservation District is a not-for -profit organization whose mission is to protect, enhance, and support Butte County natural resources and agriculture by working with willing land owners and citizens through education, land management, and on-the-ground projects.
