A man wanted for attempted murder in Paradise was arrested Monday in Oroville after police there received a call about someone possible using drugs in the Walmart parking lot.

Oroville police contacted the vehicle’s occupants just after midnight Monday and identified one of the individuals as Joshua Masterson.

Masterson was arrested without incident on suspicion of felony attempted murder and has been booked into the Butte County Jail with his bail set at $1 million.

Paradise police say Masterson, 25, and Franklin Bounds, 19, stabbed a man at a home on South Libby Road in Paradise in the early morning hours of Monday September 14.

Bounds was arrested at a home on Elliot Road Wednesday September 23. Police say he was wearing a wig and baseball cap in an attempt to conceal his identity.

The stabbing victim is expected to survive.
