It was a toasty Thursday around the North State today, but we'll cool back down a bit this weekend. A more substantial cooldown is possible late next week.
Strong high pressure sent temperatures about 5 degrees above average around the North State today, but that ridge will weaken a little this weekend... allowing us to cool back down a bit. Temperatures will be near average for July to start next week.
We're still watching Hurricane Delores in the Pacific to see where her remnants will go. It's now looking like we'll see some high cloud cover early next week, with a slight chance of shower in the mountains. There will be a better chance of showers or thunderstorms in the southern Sierra Nevada.
Long range models are breaking high pressure down late next week, leading to a significant cool down then. It's still a ways out, but our fingers are crossed for a cool down!
