Search for missing couple leads to bodies at crash site

The search for a young couple missing in Shasta County appears to have ended in tragedy, after two bodies ... still unidentified ... were found near the scene of a crashed vehicle.
The family of 19 year old Tristan Mitchell contacted authorities and local media after Mitchell and his girlfriend ... Darian Powner ... failed to return from a trip to the Hawes Ranch Saturday.
They also didn't show for their jobs at a local movie theater on Sunday, and friends and family feared they may have been in an accident due to the slick roads after the storm.
Late this afternoon a blue Ford Focus matching the one they were driving was found crashed in a creek near Lack Creek Drive in Shingletown.
Divers recovered two bodies downstream from where the vehicle was located, and investigators have confirmed they are those of a young male and female.
But authorities have yet to confirm and release their identities.
No foul play is suspected, and the CHP is investigating this incident as a traffic accident.###
