Search continues for missing Butte County woman

The search for missing Butte County woman, Angelica Weems, is ongoing the Willows Police Department said Friday.

Weems has been missing since Sunday when she and her husband Zir Weems were visiting Zir's grandmother in Willows. After some sort of disagreement, police say the couple went on a walk, and only Zir returned about half an hour later.

Zir Weems was found later in the evening bleeding profusely with what appeared to be a self-inflicted stab wound.

Over the last week The Willows Police Department, Glenn County Sheriff's Office, Glenn County Search & Rescue, Butte County Search & Rescue, and the California Highway Patrol (air support) have been searching for Angelica. Tracking with a K-9 and cadaver dog has been done in the surrounding areas and several square miles of area have been searched by foot, ATV, boat, and vehicles.

Anyone with information about the disappearance is asked to contact the Willows Police Department.

On Sunday a candlelight prayer will be held at the TJ MAXX parking lot on Notre Dame Boulevard in Chico. Both Angelica and her mother Lorena work at the store.
