A surfer in southern California caught more than the perfect wave when a sea lion decided to join him for a little board time.
The surfer Dan Murphy first thought he was being attacked, KNSD reported. But then Murphy realized that the creature just wanted to ride along.
The sea lion clung to Murphy's back for the first 20 minutes, before moving in front of him and settling itself in his lap. For the next hour, the baby sea lion rode with Murphy while the surfer's friend, Eileen Quintela, snapped photographs of the duo.
