Schools closing around the North State as storm approaches

Schools all across the North State will close Thursday because of the major storm moving through the region.

The most recent closures announced Thursday are of the Oroville City Elementary School District, which includes Central Middle School and Ishi Hills Middle School.

In Tehama County Kirkwood, Antelope Elementary School District, Elkins Elementary, Flournoy Elementary, Gerber Union Elementary, Reeds Creek School, Sacred Heart Parish School, all of the schools in the Los Molinos Unified School District, Red Bluff Elementary School District, Red Bluff High School and Mercy High School will all be closed.

Additionally all of the schools in Glenn County and the Paradise Unified School District will be closed Thursday.

In Shasta County, Lassen View Elementary School is closed. The Cottonwood Creek Charter School, Pacheco Union School District, Happy Valley Elementary School, Oak Run Elementary School and Cascade Union Elementary School District will be closed.

The Chico Unified School District, The Durham Unified School District and the Palermo Unified School district will all be open Thursday, but Bidwell Junior High School will be closed due to a power outage. Parents of Bidwell Junior students can drop their children off at McManus Elementary if they choose to. Busses already on the way to school will go to McManus Elementary where they can stay for the day, or be picked up by a parent or guardian.
