Scattered showers return to the North State tonight. The chances for rain are best in the mountains and the northern end of the valley, with only a slight chance for most of the valley and as you go further south. Lows will be in the upper 40s for the valley and 30s and 40s for the mountains.

Sunday will be cloudy with scattered showers in the valley and rain in the mountains. Highs for the valley will be in the middle to upper 50s. Cooler in the mountains with 40s and 50s. The snow level will be high with this storm at 6,000 to 7,000 feet.

On Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we'll see mostly sunny skies and highs for the valley in the lower 60's.

Sunshine sticks around all week and temperatures continue to warm. Highs by next weekend will be nar 70 degrees and flirting with record highs.
