PG&E has scheduled a power outage for Whitmore on Saturday, June 7 so crews can safely replace two wooden poles and make additional upgrades on power lines to increase electric reliability in eastern Shasta County.
The outage will begin at 8:00 a.m. and could last until 6:00 p.m. PG&E officials say the outage is necessary so crews can put new poles into service and make equipment upgrades.
"We apologize for the inconvenience that this planned outage will have on our customers in Whitmore, but we are confident that the upgrades will lead to fewer power outages," said Alton Thurston, electric superintendent of PG&E's North Valley Division.
PG&E notified 542 affected customers in the area by mail about the upcoming work.
