SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Authorities have identified the dismembered body found in a suitcase on a San Francisco street.

The San Francisco medical examiner said Wednesday that it was still trying to determine the cause of death for 58-year-old Omar Shahwan. The body found Jan. 28 in the roller suitcase contained no head or hands, making identification difficult. The medical examiner identified Shahwan with DNA testing. Shahwan's family in Vallejo, California reported him missing on Feb. 3.

Police arrested Shahwan's former roommate Mark Andrus on Jan. 31. But the 54-year-old was released three days later for lack of evidence. Andrus died over the weekend in an undisclosed San Francisco hospital of a drug-related cause. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
