SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Fire officials say one person is dead and at least four people have been injured in a massive, four-alarm fire at a residential building in San Francisco's Mission District.

Smoke and flames shot out of a mixed-used building Wednesday evening as onlookers crowded the area.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports at least one person was killed in the fire. Dozens of firefighters were at the scene battling the blaze.

A neighbor says families live on the third floor of the building, while offices occupy the second floor. The ground floor housed restaurants, shops and Mission Market.
