SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (AP) - San Bernardino County sheriff's officials say a department K-9 died last week after a training exercise.
Spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said Sunday that Jojo was assigned to the Bomb/Arson detail.
The dog died Jan. 6. Bachman says officials didn't immediately know the cause of death.
She says additional information is expected to be released in the next week by the dog's handler, a detective in the department.
The Sun newspaper reports authorities didn't say how long Jojo had been with the department or the K-9's age.
