The Sacramento River is flowing at flood stage levels in certain areas between Redding and Hamilton City at this hour. The Tehama Bridge monitor is showing the river at 218 feet as of 6 p.m. Thursday. Flood Stage begins at about 213 in that location. Down stream, the river level is at 185 feet at Vina Bridge. Flood stage there starts at about 183 feet.
Flood Stage means the river is overflowing its natural banks and beginning to cause damage due to flooding.
