Sacramento patient being tested for Ebola

A patient at the Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center is being tested for Ebola.

According to a report from CBS 13 in Sacramento, the unidentified patient may have been exposed to the virus and is currently in isolation at the Sacramento facility.

The medical center is emphasizing that all measures being taken are to protect the staff. Samples have been sent to the Centers for Disease Control where they will be tested, but results are not expected back for several days.

More than 1,200 people have been killed by the Ebola virus in West Africa.
