Firefighters were called out to Highway 44 around 6 a.m. this morning for a report of a RV on fire. When crews arrived on scene about a mile west of Millville Plains Road, they found the camper engulfed in flames. The man driving it says he had parked on the shoulder overnight, and when he went to start it this morning the engine caught fire. Fire officials confirmed that the fire started in the engine and was caused by a fuel failure. The driver was able to get out ok, but the RV was destroyed. Flames spread to a small patch of vegetation near the highway, but firefighters were able to put the flames out within minutes.
