The charges against a 26-year-old Redding man arrested for robbing a Tri Counties Bank in Redding have been dropped after police say he was misidentified by witnesses.
Redding police arrested 26-year old Christopher Dunne at his home on Jewell Lane on January 22, alleging that he robbed the Tri Counties Bank on Westside Road a day earlier.
Police say after Dunne was arrested they continued to investigate the crime and found that Dunne's alibi was accurate. They also learned that Dunne had been misidentified by witnesses.
On Wednesday investigators requested that the District Attorney's office drop the robbery charges, but Dunne remains in custody on weapons charges.
