The Salvation Army and the Chico Rotary Club teamed up to take 75 students on a back to school shopping spree at Target Wednesday.

Every year the Salvation Army matches 75 local children to benefactors from the rotary club, to shop for school clothes and classroom supplies. Program organizers say most of the students would otherwise be without the supplies.

As a bonus treat, a local McDonald’s donated 75 Happy Meals after the shopping was done.
