RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) — Police in the San Francisco Bay Area say a 15-year-old boy was arrested after officers spotted him carrying an Uzi submachine gun.
Richmond Police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov tells KTVU-TV (http://bit.ly/1iWmttO ) officers on patrol saw the teen take off running and pull the automatic weapon from his waistband.
The sergeant says the boy ran into the nearby home of an acquaintance, where officers found him and the Uzi.
The teen, a Richmond resident, was arrested for possession of a firearm and on an outstanding warrant, and taken to a juvenile lockup.
His name was being withheld because of his age.
