The man who allegedly broke into the Sin of Cortez restaurant in Chico early Tuesday morning was arrested near the Matador Hotel a little after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Chico Police recognized the man on Sin of Cortez surveillance as a suspect in another Chico burglary case and were able to track him to the Matador Hotel.
A surveillance team scouted the hotel and spotted the suspect, 36-year-old Scott Rose exit the hotel and hop on a bike. Officers approached him and a short foot pursuit followed. After the chase police recovered a gun and the bicycle tossed aside by Rose.
Rose allegedly broke into the Sin of Cortez restaurant shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. An employee showed up after an alarm went off and found the door broken and the smell of smoke. Police say a hammer was located next to the broken door and it appeared as though the ATM had been torched.
Police also arrested a woman, 24-year-old Amanda Roethlin, who they say is also a suspect in at least one Chico burglary.
