Reported Armed Robbery at East Avenue Liquors

The Chico Police Department is currently reviewing surveillance video of a reported armed robbery at East Avenue Liquors this afternoon.

Officers responded to the liquor store located 1354 East Ave just after 3:15 p.m. after an armed robbery alarm was activated. When officers arrived the suspect had already fled the scene on a bicycle. The suspect was last seen riding north on Mariposa Ave.

According to responding officers, the suspect entered the store and immediately approached the lone clerk. The suspected reportedly then demanded the cash from the register and told the clerk he had a gun in his waistband. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands. No one else was in the store at the time.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his mid-20s, 5’10”, with a large build. He was wearing a black SF Giants black baseball cap, grey t-shirt and had a yellow backpack with him. The suspect is possibly armed.
