The owner of Chico based Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Ken Grossman has built his company into one of the premiere craft breweries in the country and in doing so he's made a billion dollars, according to Bloomberg.

In the article by Brendan Coffee, which chronicles Sierra Nevada's success, it is reported that Grossman is just the third beer billionaire to emerge in the U.S, joining Jim Koch, the founder of Sam Adams and Dick Yuengling.

Grossman started Sierra Nevada with $3,000 in 1980 and in the 34 years since opening, the company has never had a year of declining sales. The company reportedly sold 1 million barrels of beer in 2014, producing a revenue of $250 million.
