A Redding man has been arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his landlord in the arm during a confrontation Sunday.

Redding police were called to the 6000 block of Emerald Lane around 9 a.m. Sunday when 59-year-old Mary Beal told Shascom dispatchers that she had been stabbed as she confronted one of her tenants about some issuers with the property.

Beal told authorities she approached 25-year-old Landon Chapman about some issues with their rental situation. Chapman became angry during the confrontation and asked for his money back. When Beal refused to refund Chapman, he grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed her in the arm.

Chapman fled the scene, but he was found a short time later by K9 Tarro and booked into the Shasta County Jail on an attempted murder charge.

Beal was able to pull the knife out of her arm and seek medical help herself.
