A transient was arrested at a motel in Downtown Redding Monday morning for public intoxication and failing to register as a sexual offender, the Redding Police Department.
Ronald Hussey, 35, was arrested at the Market Street Manor Motel after witnesses said he was causing a disturbance.
Officers said Hussey admitted that he was high on methamphetamine. Hussey was previously incarcerated in Oregon for sexual assault. California requires individuals convicted of sexual assault to register with the state, which Hussey failed to do.
Ronald Hussey was arrested for public intoxication and failing to register as a sex registrant in California. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail and his bail is set at $10,000.
Redding Police officials said the case is currently under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
