The Redding City Council has voted 5-0 to put a quarter-cent public safety sales tax measure on the November ballot.

Mayor Rick Bosetti had originally proposed a half-cent sales tax, that he said would result in $10 million for public safety annually.

The added funds will be able to be used for the funding of additional police, community cleanup projects, and out-of-county jail space.
