A Redding teen suspected of burglarizing a handful of homes in north Redding has been arrested.

Police say the 15-year-old, who will not be identified, has admitted to breaking into four homes, and is a suspect in quite a few other burglaries.

The majority of the break-ins occurred in the Quail Ridge and Arroyo Manor neighborhoods in late April and early May.

Investigators say the teen would knock on the front door of the homes and if no one answered he break-in, often times stealing money and jewelry from bedrooms.

During three of the burglaries people were home, but the teen managed to flee from each home.

The beginning of the end was when a man who lives near Whistling Drive saw a juvenile acting suspicious and took a picture of him. Police identified him as a runaway and made contact with him Tuesday.

During questioning the teen admitted to four of the burglaries, but investigators are waiting for fingerprint and DNA results to determine his involvement in additional attempts and completed burglaries. He was arrested and booked into Shasta County Juvenile Hall.
