The latest crime report for the city of Redding shows that crime overall is on the rise.

There were more robberies and assaults, but fewer rapes and murders in 2015, compared to the year before.

Property crimes saw the biggest increase ... up more than 6 percent.

The unincorporated areas of Shasta County also saw a jump in violent crimes, and property crimes.

Authorities say AB 109 and Proposition 47 are contributing factors and that more funding is needed for resources.

Meanwhile, the city of Anderson showed a significant drop in crime last year, down 21 percent.

Voters there approved a half cent sales tax in 2014 with half designated for public safety.
