Redding police seek suspect in attempted kidnapping

Redding police are searching for a suspect who allegedly tried to kidnap a woman as she was jogging at the beginning of the Sacramento River Trail near the Harlan Drive cul-de-sac.

The incident was reported to police Monday, but the victim says the kidnapping occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday.

The victim told police she was jogging near the beginning of the trail when a man approached her and forced her into the bushes. The woman was able to escape and flee the area.

Police say the suspect is a white male in his mid-twenties, he's approximately 180 pounds, clean shaven and tan. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
