Redding police officer injured in suspected DUI crash

An off duty Redding police officer was allegedly drunk when he rolled his pickup truck on Keswick Dam Road Saturday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Mathew Stoker, 44, of Redding was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding when he crashed his 2007 Chevrolet 2500 HD pickup at 4:40 p.m. Saturday.

Stoker allegedly crashed because he was speeding as he came into a left turn and couldn't successfully complete the turn. When officers arrived on the scene Stoker was pinned under the truck.

CHP officers arrested Stoker on suspicion of drunken driving and released him to Mercy Medical Center where he is being treated for moderate to major injuries.
