Redding police have arrested two men they say men posed as DEA agents and entered a Redding hydroponics store, where they stole equipment used to grow marijuana.

The robbery happened at Bare Roots on East Cypress Street just after 6:30 p.m. Monday October 26. Four days later police served a search warrant at a home in Shingletown and found evidence linking Felix Ruben Ayala, 36, and Jose Orlando Luna, 51, both of Shingletown to the robbery.

Police say Ayala, Luna and at least two other men stormed the business dressed as DEA agents and ordered everyone inside to the ground. They proceeded to grab cash and materials used to grow marijuana.

Ayala and Luna were both arrested in Shingletown and have been booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Redding Police Department at 530-225-4214.
