Redding Police officers have arrested 30-year old Ryan Gregory Peterson for robbing the 76 Gas Station on 482 E. Cypress Avenue, a gas station Peterson was a former employee of.

According to the City of Redding, Peterson reportedly entered the gas station around 7:15 p.m. last night and asked the clerk if he could charge his cell phone. When the clerk was not looking, Peterson allegedly accessed the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk attempted to stop Peterson and the two got into a physical altercation. Peterson allegedly told the clerk he was going to shoot him if he did not let him go before fleeing the gas station, but the clerk never saw a firearm.

With the aid of a CHP helicopter and a K-9 unit, Peterson was tracked and eventually located at 555 Leila Avenue where he was arrested.

Peterson reportedly admitted to the robbery and the stolen cash was recovered. He was later booked into the Shasta County Jail on robbery charges.
