The Redding Police Department announced Tuesday that they will be implementing a new traffic policy in which officers will no longer respond to a lot of non-injury crashes.
According to news release from the department, limited manpower and increased calls for service has led to the changes. From now on officers will no longer respond and take a report for any traffic collision that is non-injury and out of the roadway.
If a non-injury crash occurs and it is in the roadway, officers will respond until the roadway is clear. Once the roadway is clean officers will provide the involved parties with an information exchange card.
