The Redding Planning Commission has unanimously recommended a plan to regulate short-term rentals be forwarded to the city council.
The commission held a meeting at city hall Tuesday afternoon, during which they discussed how short-term rentals should be regulated.
Currently, hotels and bed and breakfasts have to pay their respective city an occupancy and tourism tax. Many hosts in Shasta County running short-term and vacation rentals through websites like Airbnb are not doing so.
Redding City Council members are expected to take up the matter in December.
