Redding PD nabs 12 suspects in special Shasta Mall enforcement operation

Investigators from the Redding Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit conducted a special enforcement operation in the area of Dana Drive, the Mount Shasta Mall, and other nearby shopping complexes the evenings of December 11 and 12. The operation sought to suppress shoplifting, vehicle theft and thefts from vehicles, purse snatching and fraud. Over the two nights the operation made 12 arrests.

In addition to the arrests, officers contacted those gathering receipts customers had thrown away in order to steal items which matched the listed items on the receipt in order to return those same items for cash. The department also advised holiday shoppers to not leave valuables in plain view in their vehicles when heading into shopping centers.

Here is a complete list of the arrests provided by the Redding Police Department:

Christian Lane Reed, age 26, of Redding, for felony warrants

Dylan Andrew Obrien, age 27, of Shingletown, for warrants

Byron Thomas Carey, age 24, of Palo Cedro, possession of heroin and heroin paraphernalia

Devin Michael Winton, age 30, of Bella Vista, possession of heroin

Christopher Allen Lowdermilk, age 26, transient, for warrants and possession of stolen property

Jessica Marie Honey, age 30, transient, for warrants and possession of stolen property

Margaret Edwina Greenwood, age 22, of Yreka, for warrants

Tyler Lee Cummins, age 25, transient, for warrants

Lucus Colby Berkel, age 25, of Anderson, for possession of heroin and violation of probation

Jacob Raphael Tarango , age 28, transient, for a concealed dagger on his person

Kendra Rose Brown, age 32, of Redding, for warrants

Brandon Christopher Rodgers, age 23, of Redding, for burglary and conspiracy

Some stolen property from Walmart (1515 Dana Drive) was recovered during the operation.
